In-Land Technologies Service Aviation Fuel Storage System at Major Midwest AirportPosted: Monday 15th of June 2009 04:23:39 PMIn-Land Technologies Service (ITS) upgraded the aviation fuel-storage system at a 1.2 million-square-foot Mid-West-located International Airport with an advanced, underground fuel system that provides an efficient, cost-effective and accurate way to refuel planes throughout the airport.
For this project ITS designed, engineered and manufactured the control system and instrumentation for the online ordering and underground fuel delivery systems. These tools reduce the number of employees needed to refuel, significantly upgrade the security level of the airport post-9/11, improve system monitoring and more accurately track fuel intake and costs.
ITS excels at providing customized electrical engineering solutions, said Rick Schmidt, Jr., vice-president of ITS. The aviation fuel-storage system designed for the airport presented particular challenges based on the scope and scale of the project. Then, there are the increased government specifications to reduce terrorism threats at American airports. From concept to design, ITS. delivers quality automation and instrumentation solutions. Based in Millstadt, Ill., ITS is an experienced partner in the automation industry with a staff that boasts decades of combined engineering experience.
USDA Design and Build Project Moves AlongPosted: Tuesday 5th of May 2009 04:41:15 PMMILLSTADT, Ill. - A current project being handled by In-Land Technologies Service (ITS) for the National Centers for Animal Health (NCAH) is moving along well and has already garnered positive feedback well before the project's 2007 installation date.
The project involves the installation of a new waste water treatment plant at a NCAH site in Ames, Iowa. ITS is responsible for providing programmable logic controller hardware and process control system software for the new plant.
Travis Muskopf, a project engineer and manager for Sachs Automation, the ITS partner in this project, recently gave a ringing endorsement as to how the project is proceeding.
"I firmly believe that the client was impressed and more than satisfied with the product he is going to get, both on the hardware and software side of the design," Muskopf said. "I am a happy customer myself for all that ITS has done to get us to this point."
And while ITS is pleased to hear the compliments while the project is in process, they know it is no time to rest on their laurels. The massive Iowa project consists of storage tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, cook tanks and vent tanks.
The hardware and software being designed and built by ITS will allow operation and remote monitoring of all of this equipment from a designated control room. Plant operators will use desktop computers to view an overall operations screen depicting the system. In addition, multiple sub-screens were developed to give the operators the ability to monitor and control every aspect of the process.
"On projects like this we know we have to stay focused," said Mike Krisby, electrical engineer for ITS. "We started the project this past March and we'll be responsible for startup and commissioning of the project in early 2007, so there's still a lot of work to do."
It's all part of the process for ITS, a company known for full-spectrum service in plant automation and custom fabrication services. From design to commissioning, ITS has been a respected partner for regional, national and international companies since 1989.

In-Land Technologies Service Expands with New HiresPosted: Thursday 9th of April 2009 09:32:05 PM
In-Land Technologies Service (ITS) expanded their team with the
hiring of three employees. Kelly Campaga, Michael S. Mathus and Brett
Henschen bring an abundance of knowledge to the company through 69
years of combined experience at Olin Bras, a leading manufacturer of
copper and copper alloy strip.
Mathus works
as a project manager to oversee production, fill requisitions, procure
parts and provide project direction. He holds 34 years of experience
in the electrical engineering industry. Mathus currently resides in
Godfrey, Ill. In his free time, he enjoys working on his house and
spending time with his three children.
"ITS
employs a highly knowledgeable staff. Each member of the team has a
firm grasp on his or her responsibilities. Blended together, the
outcomes of our projects illustrate the expansive capabilities of this
firm." says Mathus.
As
project engineers, Henschen and Campagna are responsible for project
development, integration and start-up of projects. Henchen holds a
Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of
Missouri-Rolla. He currently resides in Hamel, Ill. and enjoys spending
time with his family, following the St. Louis Cardinals and playing
softball.
"ITS
employees have a great sense of company pride and dedication," says
Campagna. "Employees are not just interested in individual success but
the overall success of this company."
Campanga
holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. "ITS stands above the
competition because they have the capabilities to provide the entire
package in electrical engineering solutions," said Henschen. "I'm
looking forward to working with a technologically advanced organization
that possesses family-owned values."
Campanga
currently resides in Edwardsville, Ill. In his free time, he enjoys
duck hunting, horse riding and spending time with his wife and
son. "We're pleased to welcome the expertise and knowledge of these new
employees," says Rick Jr., president of IMG. "As a growing firm, we
strive to provide expertise in all areas of the electrical engineering
industry. Clients can expect personal attention and attention to detail
with every facet of their project."
Millstadt Sees Industrial Growth with the Addition of New ITS HeadquartersPosted: Thursday 9th of April 2009 09:26:24 PM
In-Land Technologies Services (ITS) is in the midst of preparing for a
new corporate headquarters. Unlike any other building in Millstadt,
the facility will include several internal and exterior features that
put this structure within a class of its own. The building is
scheduled to be completed in November 2007.
Located at the corner of East Adams and South Breese, local residents
can expect to see considerable changes as construction of the new
headquarters continues. The two-story building will feature an
exterior of rough-faced block and brick; accompanied by large windows.
Including the basement, the building will encompass more than 15,000
square feet of space. Visitors can park in either the front or side of
the building.
"With 1,800 square feet available, I don't foresee a problem filling
additional space with a professional firm. Our large offices, dramatic
foyer and full-size windows are a few of the amenities we have to
offer. We anticipate choosing tenants to fill these spots fairly
quickly as construction progresses." says Derek Eastep, chief operating
officer for IMG.
IMG selected local architect Gary Shondy to design the building and is
working with Gasser Construction, of Millstadt, for the building's
construction. Dan Jackson, of Southwest Bank in Bellville, worked with
IMG in financing the project.
"We appreciate the number of businesses around the area who have helped
us in the development of our new building," said Rick Schmidt, Jr.,
president of IMG. "We feel honored to be located in an up-and-coming area; giving us room for growth and opportunity."
Plans for the building's interior include a state-of-the-art conference
room featuring hardwood floors, displays and a cove ceiling; along with
high-tech equipment and communication capabilities. These additions
will give ITS up-to-the-minute methods of efficiently communicating
with clients. Once inside the first floor foyer, employees and
visitors will notice a divided staircase; giving the building an
atrium-like effect.
"It will be unlike any building in the area," said Linda Saputo, IMG
chief financial officer. "The new ITS headquarters is a true
reflection of the unique and novel aspects of the company, which shines
through the architecture and feel of the building. ITS continues to
grow and change each year. As a result, the new building is a better
representation of the company's image and capabilities."
The company was founded by Rick Schmidt, Sr., and John Ruggeri. It was
originally located in Dupo, Ill., before moving to Millstadt in 1990.
ITS is a global leader in full-spectrum service for plant automation
and custom fabrication services. From design to commissioning, ITS has
been a respected partner for regional, national and international
companies since 1988.
